Who are we?

Y-PEER(Youth Peer Education Network)   aims to promote a healthy life style through peer to peer approach and to empower young people to make responsible decisions.The Network advocates for increased access to information, knowledge, and services on sexual and reproductive health, strengthening the knowledge base of peer educators and trainers of trainers, promoting communication and sharing experiences between global Y-PEER network, contributing to national strategies development and improving training resources for peer educators.  Selected Y-PEER members are volunteers, active peer educators, and trainers of trainers and youth advocates for adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

Y-PEER (Youth Peer Education Network) Nepal started in August 2010 with the support of UNFPA CO and it is currently hosted by the Association of Youth Organization of Nepal as the secretariat. Y-PEER Nepal was officially launched on 3rd December 2010 among the member organizations, I/NGOs, UN agencies, media, young people and potential partners. Y-PEER Nepal has organized 3 National ToT till date which has produced 72 peer educators across the country who are identified as Y-PEER certified trainers. Trained Y-PEER certified PEs around the country are organizing various programs focusing on youth participation and various aspects of young people’s sexuality.
