3rd National TOT @ Nepaljung

The 3rd National Training of Y-PEER Nepal was held at Nepalgunj, Banke from 18th Sept.- 22 Sept. 2011. The 3rd ToT was organized to enhance the skills of peer educators from the Western, Mid-Western and Far-Western Development region of the country. The ToT was facilitated by Y-PEER Nepal Focal point-in-charge Shubha Kayastha and Focal points Sagar Budhathoki and Sangeet Kayastha. It was a great platform for peer educators of different districts to gather at a common place to share their unique local experiences that was very much relevant in the training. The main objective of the training was to build capacity of selected group of trainers to delivery high quality peer education programs. The training was very useful to learn methodologies and to acquire and share accurate information about Reproductive Health and sexual health issues, including HIV&AIDS Discuss own attitudes and values regarding Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV &AIDS, as well as health education. The training methodology was very youthful which helped the participants to participate actively and express their values and attitudes regarding some sensitive issues very positively. The training was able to add one more batch of certified trainers in the Y-PEER family helping to strengthen the network even better.

2nd National TOT @ Banepa

The 2nd National ToT of Y-PEER Nepal was organized at Budol Training Center, Banepa from  10th to 14th September. The 2nd ToT was targeted to the peer educators from Eastern and Central Development Region .There were 25 participants from these regions who represented different organizations in the ToT. The ToT was facilitated by Y-PEER Nepal Focal point-in-charge Shubha Kayastha and Focal points Sagar Budhathoki and Sangeet Kayastha. The main objective of the training was to enhance the capacity of the peer educators who are working on various issues at different organization so that they can contribute back to their organizations the skills and knowledge gained from the training. The training was highly useful for all the peer educators as it was a common platform for different youths working in sectors such as SRH, HIV & AIDS, drugs, children, uterine prolapse, early marriage etc. to share their experiences with each other and learn among themselves. The training was very youthful as with the Y-PEER theme edutainment, a mix of education and entertainment which focuses in imparting skills and knowledge through simplified and very youthful methodology. The training was able to produce 25 more Y-PEER certified peer educators who are actively working in their organizations and sharing the skills learned from the Y-PEER training.
